Having one place that you can return to over and over again to work on a painting is one of the best features about being a painter. In my own case, I have a quiet room on the second floor of our home, and just walking in and sitting in front of a painting in progress puts me in a totally relaxed mood. The sense of familiarity and continuity is conducive to the frame of mind that allows me to drop everything and simply concentrate on what I am doing, and now that my grandkids are painting too, I have the feeling that it's a comfortable spot for them as well.
