We have a detached garage at our home in the Adirondacks where I like to paint in the summer months. Since it is not heated, the time I spend there is limited, but being there has a nice feel to it. With the door open on rainy days, I can still enjoy a sense of being outdoors and out in the open. I usually paint with acrylics and watercolors when I do landscapes, but occasionally do a portrait in oil and, with the exception of portraits, most of my paintings are not meant to be realistic. They come from a desire to relax and enjoy painting without that kind of pressure.
